New members were signed up from among the parents and kids, with our duck savings banks proving a big hit once again. Several members of staff signed up to take advantage of the benefits of payroll saving.

It was also that first outing for our brand new display stand.

Development worker Ian Kenning said “It was a great day with new members signed up and lots of interest. A big thanks to all the staff at Parklands for helping to make it happen and welcome to all the new members.”

The Credit Union is a members organisation, and alongside our fantastic staff, there are a number of members who give some of their time to help the Credit Union.

There are two ways you can get involved – the Board of Directors and the Supervisory Committee

Board of Directors

The current Board has 9 directors and can have up to 15.
The Board has the overall responsibility for managing the affairs of the Credit Union and members normally meet monthly and give approximately one and a half to 2 hours per month of their time. The Board would like to see BDCU have a full compliment of 15 directors.

Supervisory Committee

The current Supervisory Committee consists of 3 members and can have up to 5, and the current committee elect would like to see another 2 members volunteer to join the committee.
The Supervisory Committee has responsibility for auditing and monitoring BDCU Policies and Procedures and members normally meet monthly and give approximately 1 hour per month of their time.

If you are interested in either roles, why not get in touch or speak to one of the directors. In house training will be provided.
