The duck shaped money boxes made a big splash with new savers at the launch of our new community collection point at St Edmunds Children Centre in Girlington.
Members of the Credit Union staff were on hand to welcome the public and nearly fifty new members signed up, about half of which were junior savers.
Development worker Ian Kenning said “It was a great day with lots of people turning up. The duck-shaped money boxes that St Edmunds had provided were a big hit with the Junior Savers, and we signed up quite a few of the staff as well”.
The event was well covered by the local press, with a piece in the T&A and an item on Look North.
The Junior Savers scheme encourages good habits in children by helping them to save regularly. If you are a member and have a child or grandchild you want to help develop good saving habits, why not download an application form.
The Credit Union are working together with St Edmunds Children Centre in Girlington to officially launch the latest community collection point in Bradford. The day is open to anyone and runs from 9am till 4pm on Wednesday 5th October at The Childrens Centre on Washington Street.
