Back to School, the BDCU Way: Supporting Our Members Every Step of the Journey
Back-to-school season can be an expensive time. Uniforms, shoes, and supplies all add up quickly, putting extra pressure on family budgets. At BDCU, we’re here to support our members through these challenges and help make things a little easier.
With funding from the West Yorkshire Mayor’s ‘Cost of Living Fund’, we are proud to be working in partnership with Tracey Brabin’s office to support our community, helping more people manage seasonal costs with confidence.
As part of this support, BDCU offers practical ways to help members stay on top of their finances during busy times of the year.
One option is the BDCU Back to School Loan. Designed to help spread the cost of school essentials in a manageable way, it provides access to funds when they’re needed, through a simple and straightforward application process.
What makes this approach different is the focus on building for the future too. While repaying, members are also encouraged to save, helping create longer-term financial stability.
There are no hidden fees and no penalties for early repayment, and all decisions are based on what people can realistically afford, making it a fairer and more supportive way to borrow where needed.
There’s also a £50 savings incentive built in:
- Receive £10 into your BDCU savings account within one month of the loan being completed
- A further £40 is paid once the loan is fully repaid, as long as repayments have been maintained
It’s a simple way to reward consistency and help build a financial safety net!
Applying is quick and easy, with decisions usually made within a few working days.
At BDCU, this isn’t just about lending – it’s about supporting our members, helping people feel more in control of their money, and providing reassurance at times when finances can feel stretched. So, if back-to-school costs are coming up, we’re here to support you every step of the way.
