We had a great time at Madni Masjid recently, where we hosted a special event to help and encourage local residents to open a BDCU savings account, bringing together community leaders and local residents to explore our faith-friendly financial services.

The event was led by Senior Project Officer, Siobhan Graham, supported by Finance Apprentice Ariba Matloob. It was attended by the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Mohammad Shafiq, along with Imam Usman. The session provided an opportunity for Muslim residents to learn more about ethical savings options that align with Islamic principles.

BDCU’s faith-friendly savings approach is designed to be inclusive and accessible, offering members a way to save and manage their money in line with their beliefs. Rather than relying on interest-based models, these accounts are built around ethical financial practices, ensuring members can engage with financial services in a way that reflects their values.

The visit also highlighted the importance of working closely with local communities to build trust and improve understanding of financial wellbeing.
