Go Plastic Free This July!
At BDCU money tips, Here are ways to help you reduce your plastic usage:
Bring your own reusable bags: Carry a reusable shopping bag with you whenever you go grocery shopping or run errands. This will help you avoid single-use plastic bags.
Use a reusable water bottle: Instead of buying bottled water, opt for a reusable water bottle that you can refill throughout the day. It’s better for the environment and your wallet!
Say no to plastic straws: Skip the plastic straws and opt for reusable or biodegradable alternatives like stainless steel or bamboo straws. You can also enjoy your drinks without a straw, if possible.
Choose glass or metal containers: When storing food or leftovers, opt for glass or metal containers instead of plastic ones. They are more durable and can be reused for a long time.
Shop in bulk: Purchase bulk items whenever possible. This way, you can bring your own containers to fill up with essentials like grains, nuts, and spices, reducing the need for excessive plastic packaging.
Use reusable produce bags: Instead of using the thin plastic bags provided at grocery stores for fruits and vegetables, bring your own reusable produce bags. They are lightweight, washable, and a great alternative to single-use plastics
